This was supposed to be the girls' first birthday. I'm so glad that
it's not. If this had been the day that they were born a year ago we
would have missed out on so much. We would have missed out on so many
wonderful friendships that we started with nurses, doctors, therapists,
fellow patients, social workers, chaplains, cafeteria workers,
maintenance people, security guards, case managers....the list goes on.
Each of these people have been such a blessing to our lives and
continue to be. And on top of that they offer us an opportunity to be a blessing back to
them. Our difficult road has been just that, difficult, but the
blessings it has provided have been too numerous to count. Yes, our
girls have had to endure things that no babies should have to endure.
But as is the case with all of our struggles as children of God, He
truly does work ALL THINGS together for the good of those who love Him
and are called according to His purpose.
Penny's face is just so happy all over when she smiles!
