There are few things in my life that I am more grateful for than my grandparents. They have been an amazing example of what a loving marriage looks like. They are loving, kind, generous people who encourage others to do the same. My grandfather served selflessly in the Korean War, earning a purple heart and the respect of anti-communists everywhere. He is the reason why I tear up at the National Anthem. My grandmother has spent her life helping the helpless, loving the unlovely, and giving of herself to everyone she meets. She is the reason why I've never meet a stranger or a craft project that I don't like! It is the parts of me that came from them that I like the most about myself.
Although mobility isn't their strongest suit these days, they came all the way from the far side of the state to spend some time with us. It is time that I will treasure forever. There is something truly amazing about seeing your children love on your grandparents and your grandparents love on your children. I am so grateful that they have gotten to know each other and that I have proof of it. I'm also grateful that I have this blog so that I can shout it from the proverbial rooftops that I have the Greatest of Grandparents!
