Half as hard and twice as good

I'm not sure how this will post (doing it from my phone at the hospital and the app won't let me do videos...how rude!) but I wanted to share it.

It's just a little moment of the girls together and silly chat around them but when I went back a little later to watch it I heard something much more profound. The playlist we have for Penny to listen to has Sara Groves album "Station Wagon" on it, which I recommend for any parent, but it also has a song of hers that has rung true with me and that I hope becomes a theme for the girls' life together. The chorus says "life with you is half as hard and twice as good"

As for an update, it turns out that lydia's dissatisfaction with food was related to a little tummy bug that has resolved itself because today she's as happy as a lark and as hungry as a...well...a growing baby!

Penelope finally gained a little weight, with all the vent settings and activity level changes she had been stalled out. Without her sedation meds anymore she's just as happy as can be too. She's still trying to figure things out with the bottle but it's going positively!

It really was a good feeling to go back to work today and be able to tell people that both girls are doing as well as they could be. I'm so proud of the Lord and all of the miracles He has given us to brag about.

Specific Prayer

- penny's weight gain
- penny's ventilator wean
- penny's physical development
- lydia's health
- lydia's adjustment to our new schedule
- lydia's development
- our buddy Lynnlee. She had her gtube and reflux repair surgery 2 days ago and is off the vent! Pray that she improves and doesn't need a trach to control her co2
