You'll also be happy to know that both girls are doing excellently. Lydia is developing by leaps and bounds. She has started using a sippy cup, even if it's mostly for teething purposes, she's still using it. She's sitting up like a pro too! I haven't weighed her since the last blog but I'm sure she's bigger. She's wearing 9 month pjs now! OH! The most exciting development is that she has a neck now! We wondered if she'd ever grow one, but it has shown up and we're so happy!
Sweet P is doing fantastically too. She's gaining weight really well (4.82 kg now which is 10 lbs 9 ozs) and...drum roll please....taking 30 ccs from a bottle in about 10 minutes and would take more if we let her!! She's remembered the joy of eating! She does belong in my family after all! She also got her initial "starter g-tube" out and got a much higher tech and easier to use "mic-key" button. Rest assured we sing plenty of Disney songs when we talk about it. Nancy the wound care nurse "let" me put it in. You can see in my face in the picture below how very "excited" about it I was. By excited I mean creeped out. But all went well and we're all high tech now....she got that from her Daddy. Her ventilator was weaned from a rate of 20 ventilator breaths per minute to 18 and gained weight again so the plan is to wean again tomorrow if she continues to gain. She's also really starting to notice her hands (adorable to watch) and is reaching for things. Mostly reaching for our faces and melting our hearts in the process. Her head control is improving and she's pushing up through her legs and trying to push to stand up. It's almost like we got in a time machine and have gone back to exactly what Lydia was doing about a month and a half ago. It's so exciting!
"She's all up in my space!" -L "it's payback time!" -P

Go Bethany, uh huh, that's her name, uh huh, she's a super mom, uh huh, and that's her game...(picture this to the tune of the kid's show: Sid the Science Kid). Girl and boy (counting you too Jonathan) impress the mess out of me. Your laughter is contagious...as we watch your videos. Train can always tell whose blog I am reading when he hears me laughing and sees me grinning ear to ear.
ReplyDeleteYou two grasshoppers are just stinking precious and so are your mini grasshoppers!
Hugs to you!
