Penny now weighs 11 lbs 6 oz! She has about 2 more pounds to go before she can go on her "home vent" setup. Once she's on that, we will work on getting to the perfect settings for her to grow and thrive on, then she proves she can grow and thrive for 2 weeks, then we can go home! It's so close yet so far away. She's doing so so so well though. She's getting better all the time with her head control, hand/eye coordination, leg strength, and other PT/OT stuff. She's taking bottles regularly and is able to take her whole feed from a bottle but isn't allowed to for fear that she'll use too many of those calories for eating and not for growing. We are still trying the rice cereal although she's still not the biggest fan. I keep telling her she's Chinese, she's supposed to like rice...but I think we already have an "outside the box" thinker on our hands. Oh boy!
Lydia is getting bigger and I keep forgetting to weigh her! She's wearing 9 month clothes though, so that give you an idea of her grandeur. She is so hilarious. She watches everything very carefully. She's starting to try to wave, and is picking up on the fact that peekaboo is a comical game. It is now quite clear that she prefers store-bought food to the food mommy makes, which I imagine is only the beginning because my cooking skills are well below par. Make sure to watch the videos below of her having a splash extravaganza in the tub, and the one of her "helping" the nurse at the computer. You can get an idea of the gusto with which she approaches life.
Precious precious little people!
And last but not least!!!! The Forrest Spence Fund 5K is tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. at Overton Park! Lydia and I will be speaking about what the fund has done for our family at 7:30 while all you sportslike people stretch. If you can't make it to the race, feel free to go to their website at www.forrestpencefund.com and donate! It is an amazing organization that has made such a difficult time in our lives, one of hope. We will be eternally grateful.

Penny and I are all ready for our Olan Mills pictures now
