And a good time was had by all

We had a lovely visit with some friends today.  One of those friends is the reason why I'm involved in special education today.  His name is Mike and if you ask him how old he is he'll say "I don't know" and just grin at you.  He's one of the nicest people you could ever meet, and he loooves babies.  Today Lydia started fussing a little bit and his first impulse was to do whatever he could to make her happy.  He decided to sing.

Once Penny woke up, she and Lydia and some sister tummy time.  They enjoyed it like their mother enjoys exercise.  But they were cute doing it!

Penny has only a few more days left on her sedation wean and is doing well.  She also has had her rate and pressure support weaned on her ventilator.  She's also getting glowing reports from physical/occupational therapy (for those wondering, her occupation is being a baby...so they're helping her do that better)

Lydia has become quite vocal, loves her veggies at dinner time, smiles and laughs at anyone who will return the favor, and throws an inconsolable fit about once a day.

Both of my girls get more precious every day and I'm so very grateful for every breath they breathe.  I was talking to a friend about how things are going and in talking I realized that during this whole 7 month ordeal (and the 6 months before) there has yet to be a need that has not been met.  Food has shown up just in time and in just the right amount.  Money has shown up just in time and in just the right amount.  All our bills have been paid, our house has been cared for, our emotional needs have been met, and we have felt continually encouraged by the support we've felt.  Our God is so good. And He continues to be so good to us through the people He's placed in our lives.  We are just so very grateful.
