Penny had her NICU followup appointment in the morning. She saw a developmental pediatrician, speech therapy, physical therapy, dietitian, and audiology. Yes, the appointment was not very brief, but Penny handled it very well. She smiled at everyone and performed like a good little monkey until she just got too tired and went to sleep. The consensus was that he was doing "Rediculously impressive". She passed her hearing test and weighs 14 and a half pounds! She is actually 10 months old but Her adjusted age (what she would have been if she had been born on her due date) is 7 months and her medical set backs should make her be acting closer to a 5 month old. Developmentally she's performing between 7 and 9 months! Everyone was very impressed with her improvement and said it was remarkable for her to be catching up so quickly. I credit the Lord for giving Penny such spunk. I have a feeling that nothing is going to hold this girl back!
So after coming home and taking naps, Jonathan, Penny, Lydia, Cynthia (our nurse), and I headed to Hope Church to hang out with all of Jonathan's coworkers before the concert. I half expected the girls to be overstimulated and fussy but they were just the opposite. They were sociable, smiley, and fascinated with the lights! Penny got so excited she even had to be suctioned on the stage (not during the show of course). I mean how "rock and roll" is that!? Cynthia was great helping us get Penny where we wanted her to go. We even took both girls up on the platform Jonathan plays on and got a family picture. We had a great time.
Right now I'm in an epic battle of the wills with Lydia. She seems to think that my bed is the best place to rest and her bed is the best place to scream at the top o her lungs. At least we know her lungs are strong! But as my mom always made clear. Mama always wins. Now for adorable pictures (note, the girls aren't ALWAYS smiling...it's just that as a rule we don't normally post pictures of temper tantrums)

Chuplicates and mini coopers

Carol (the drummer's mom) came all the way from England to see the girls! (oh yea, and she got to see her daughter too)
